Guidelines for Inclusion on HKIAC Panel of ArbitratorsThe HKIAC has established a panel of arbitrators each of whose members who do have the necessary expertise and knowledge to assist parties in disputes in resolving their disputes in a professional manner. Persons who wish to be considered for inclusion in HKIAC Panel of Arbitrators should read the following information and submit the required documentation. In exceptional circumstances eminent persons with substantial relevant experience in arbitration who do not otherwise meet the first two requirements above may be included.
Application Procedure for inclusion on HKIAC Panel of ArbitratorsApplicants who wish to be included on HKIAC Panel of Arbitrators are required to complete the application form (Form PA1). Applicants shall submit the completed form together with an up-to-date one page CV and fee schedule/terms and conditions of appointment to the Secretary-General of the HKIAC by email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . All applications will be reviewed by the Secretary-General to ensure that they meet the HKIAC Panel Selection Criteria. If the criteria are met and the application should be placed before the Panel Selection Committee, the HKIAC will inform the applicant that his or her application will be tabled at the next Panel Selection Committee meeting. HKIAC will write to all applicants informing them of the result of their applications. HKIAC may at its own discretion include the details of unsuccessful applicants on HKIAC’s database of arbitrators. Removal procedure from HKIAC Panel of ArbitratorsIt can be stated that the duties of an arbitrator are threefold(1):
HKIAC believes that when an arbitrator conducts arbitration, he or she should be under strict moral and ethical obligations to act fairly and impartially, and adheres to the HKIAC Code of Conduct for Arbitrators(2). If a panelist fails to observe HKIAC Code of Conduct, the Panel Selection Committee may at its discretion remove a panelist without providing reasons for doing so.
