Presentation to the Bank of Indonesia3 August 2010 On 3 August 2010, Mr Norris Yang, Mr Julian Stargardt and Prof Roger Nissim met with senior officials from the Bank of Indonesia who were here in Hong Kong. The discussion included the increasing use of mediation in Hong Kong, particularly after the coming into effect of PD 31 on 1 January 2010. The audience showered speakers with questions and, unsurprisingly, were very interested to learn of our experiences in handling cases related to Lehman Brothers. They were very impressed with the high percentage success rate. Indonesia operates under civil law rather than our common law system and the differences between these two systems was also discussed in the context of the use of mediation. |
