"Decoding the Mediator Selection Process: Gaining Insights into Being the Chosen One"

Unbeknown to many accredited mediators in Hong Kong, different private sectors and institutional/special sectors have their own selection criteria in appointing a mediator. Among them are the Legal/ ADR, Corporate, Insurance and Construction fields from private sectors, and the Housing Authority, Financial Dispute Resolution Centre, Joint Mediation Helpline Office and HK Family Welfare Society from the institutional/ special sectors. It is amazing how they may differ in the characteristics they look for in a mediator and the ‘why’ and ‘what’ factors which may affect whom they choose and appoint.

In view of the above, key stakeholders and prominent leaders in this respect would share their invaluable insights into the topic at this Forum with mediators from various organizations. Details of the Forum are as follows:

Venue:                    HKIAC, 38/F., Two Exchange Square, Central, Hong Kong.

Language:              English for the Private Sectors’ Forum, and

                                Cantonese for the Institution/ Special Sectors

Format:                  Brief respective presentations, followed by panel discussions with the assistance of a moderator.
