The United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific (RCAP), the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) East Asia Branch (EAB) and the International Dispute Resolution Academy (IDRA) are co-organising a two-day intensive masterclass programme on international dispute resolution in Shanghai on 26 and 27 September 2016.
This masterclass programme focuses on what lawyers, arbitrators and cross-border trading companies and merchants need to know about the relevant UNCITRAL instruments on international commercial conciliation and arbitration. It will develop participants’ understanding of the prevailing principles and practice in international arbitration and cross-border dispute resolution.
There are two modules in the programme. Module 1 consists of one-day interactive lectures and workshops on UNCITRAL instruments on international commercial conciliation and arbitration; and Module 2 is the CIArb EAB Entry Course.
Participants who complete both Modules will be awarded a certificate of attendance issued by the organisers. Those who pass the assessments in Module 2 will be eligible to apply for Associate grade of CIArb (which is the first grade). Further information about the CIArb courses can be found at www.ciarb.org.
