HKIAC Tribunal Secretary Training Programme - Shanghai
HKIAC is the first arbitral institution to offer a Tribunal Secretary Training Programme. As an extension of HKIAC’s tribunal secretary service, the Programme trains the next generation of tribunal secretaries around the world.
The training typically takes one and a half days, during which part of the participants work will be assessed. A further written exam will follow the training. Participants who successfully pass the written assessment will be interviewed by a member of the Board or Faculty. Participants who have passed both the written and oral exam will receive a certificate of completion and will be listed on our website subject to his/her consent.

Investment protection along the 'Belt and Road Initiative'

For over a year CMS and the HKIAC have partnered to deliver thought leadership on key developments in the world of international investments. In Decmeber we are bringing our lecture series to Shanghai to share our insights into the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), the opportunities adn risks associated with it as well as how to structure and protect your investments.

HKIAC - Arbitrator Training Series - Drafting Arbitration Awards 2017
This training workshop is designed to introduce participants to the essential requirements for drafting enforceable arbitral awards in international arbitration proceedings. Participants will receive practical advice on how to apply best practice to the award writing process.

Chasing the Money: Part Two Enforcement and Beyond [FULL-HOUSE]

The second part of this two-part seminar will provide a comprehensive overview of the options available, and steps required, to successfully enforce arbitral awards and maximise recovery where awards remain unpaid. Attendees can expect to receive practical guidance from experts who specialize in recovering claims against commercial parties who fail to pay voluntarily.
The first seminar addressed how asset tracing can be used to shape a dispute resolution strategy at the early stages. This seminar will complete the lifecycle of the dispute resolution process by focussing on the enforcement stage through to final recovery.

The Belt and Road Initiative aims to strengthen economic ties across Asia, Europe and Africa. Key to the initiative is the Maritime Silk Road, which aims to open up new sea trade routes. Hong Kong, as China’s second largest trading partner, is well placed to take advantage of the significant opportunities that will follow.
The purpose of this seminar is to provide insights from various industry experts as to how the maritime industry can maximise opportunities under the Belt and Road Initiative in the coming years. Risk management and dispute resolution strategies will also be addressed.
ICCA-ASIL Task force on Damages In International Arbitration
In the afternoon of 15 November 2017, the Joint ICCA-ASIL Task Force on Damages in International Arbitration (Task Force), co-chaired by Catherine Amirfar and Gabrielle Nater-Bass, will convene to present its ongoing work to promote consistency and rigor in the quantification of damages in international arbitration. The Task Force, which is comprised of leading legal and economics experts from diverse jurisdictions across the globe, aims to develop a damages tool of practical application.
