On the occasion of the 23rd Willem C Vis Moot, which will be held in Vienna between 17 and 24 March 2016, the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) and the Vienna International Arbitral Centre (VIAC) will be jointly organizing a seminar to explore the qualities which are essential to an ideal arbitrator and whether these qualities differ from one culture to another with a particular focus on the Far East.

HKIAC Arbitration Clause Negotiation Workshop
Join us with four arbitration experts to engage in a mock negotiation of arbitration clauses to be included into three agreements concerning a Chinese private equity fund’s investment in a Chinese-foreign joint venture through an Indonesian company majority-owned by a Singaporean state-owned enterprise. The negotiation process will be visually displayed in real-time while a commentator will discuss takeaway points as the negotiation progresses.

FIAA Workshop
HKIAC is pleased to support the FIAA training in Hong Kong. This learning-by-doing workshop will provide international arbitration practitioners with advanced skills and techniques for examination, cross-examination and witness conferencing involving expert witnesses. Participants will have a unique opportunity to improve their advocacy skills by:
- working with accounting experts from leading firms;
- engaging in exercises and simulations based on a mock arbitration case, including a full day witness hearing; and
